Coffee Basics Level 1: Brewing is designed for coffee enthusiasts, home brewers, and aspiring professionals who want to master the fundamentals of manual coffee brewing. This course focuses on understanding flavor, extraction, and technique across a wide range of international brewing methods.
Students will build a strong foundation in coffee origins, processing, and roast profiles before diving deep into sensory development through guided cupping sessions. From there, the course emphasizes hands-on brewing practice—teaching how different variables like grind size, water, ratios, and technique affect taste and consistency.
You’ll gain practical experience with globally recognized brewing styles and equipment, including pour-over methods, moka pot, syphon, ice drip, and manual espresso tools. The course also introduces Golden Cup standards and includes a practical brewing and sensory examination to ensure students leave with real, applicable skills—not just theory.
With small class sizes and instructor-led practice, students receive personalized feedback and develop confidence in brewing high-quality coffee consistently.
