Coffee Basics Level 1: Barista is a foundational, hands-on course designed for beginners and aspiring baristas who want a solid understanding of coffee, espresso, and café workflows. This course balances theory with practical application, giving students the confidence to work with coffee equipment, understand flavor, and prepare espresso-based drinks correctly.

You’ll explore where coffee comes from, how processing and roast levels affect flavor, and how to taste coffee professionally through guided sensory training and cupping. The course then moves into essential espresso theory and hands-on practice, covering extraction basics, manual brewing methods, milk steaming fundamentals, and café menu standards. Students will also learn how to choose suitable equipment and maintain it properly—an essential skill for both home brewers and café professionals.

Classes are intentionally kept small to ensure personalized guidance, plenty of hands-on time, and direct feedback from the instructor.

What you’ll learn:

  • Coffee origins, processing methods, and roast levels (theory & practical)
